Sara Takanashi won on Friday in Nizhny Tagil ahead of Coline Mattel and Katja Pozun.

The Grand Prix continues this weekend with two competitions on the new HS100 hill in Nizhny Tagil, Russia. Sara Takanashi (JPN) won the first competition on Friday with two nice jumps of 96.5 and 98.5 meters. Coline Mattel from France took the second place with jumps of 94.5 and 94.0 meters. The third place was claimed by Katja Pozun from Slovenia with a pair of jumps of 92.0 and 90.0 meters.

Germany's Katharina Althaus came fourth with jumps of 89.0 and 91.0 meters. The fifth place was taken by Ursa Bogtaj from Slovenia. She jumped 90.5 and 92.0 meters. The hosting nation Russia was able to celebrate a sixth place for Irina Avvakumova who jumped 90.0 meters twice.

To mention is the strong performance of the French and Canadian teams. Julia Clair came seventh and Lea Lemare ninth, and so – with Mattel on the second place – all three French competitors finished within the top ten. Also the only two Canadians had top ten results. Taylor Henrich took the eighth place and Atsuko Tanaka shared the tenth place with Austria's Chiara Hölzl.

Takanashi extended her lead in the overall Grand Prix with this victory. She has now 225 points. Second ranked Mattel has 129 points and Pozun on third 126 points.
